This year, Cramer's Crew will be making and selling bookmarks to fund the development of a school in a secluded area near Cape Coast, Ghana.
100% of the money goes to build the school. The money is used to pay the contractors and to buy materials. Due to the location of this school, sand will need to be trucked in from Cape Coast (coastal city in Ghana) so this is a bigger expense than in the last school that was built. On average, it takes 3 years to complete due to the amount of money that needs to be raised.
Cramer's Crew has taken on a service project through the end of the year. Through community members and Honor's Credit Union, the classroom has collected fleece donations in order to make and sell fleece tug toys for dogs. All sales will go directly to Make-A-Wish Foundation through Wish-A-Mile bike tour participant campaigns. Each participant must raise/donate $1,200 by June 30, 2017.
Cindy Cramer (2nd grade teacher at Dix Street Elementary) and Dustin Cramer (Cindy's son) are both participating in the 300 mile bike tour that starts in Traverse City and ends at the Michigan International Speedway.
